Ahmedabad, Monday: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today described Gujarat’s police as the most educated and techno savvy force in the country, ever alert in the safety and service of the people. For police personnel, he said that the Constitution, Tri-colour and uniform assume special significance.

Speaking at the passing-out parade of Lok Rakshak Police at Gujarat Police Academy at Karai, he said that training module is being overhauled for all cadres at the academy to make the force more professional to cope with ever-changing laws and law-and-order problems. New courses are introduced at regular intervals. It is being followed-up at district headquarters, too.

Mr. Modi took salute at the parade of 473 trainees, including 150 females, out of which 160 were graduates and 57 postgraduates. They took oath in the name of the Constitution. He presented President’s award winning police medals to 30 personnel, right from the director-general to constable.

He said that as many as 26,000 persons were inducted into the police force in various cadres during the last seven years. In all, three lakh people were employed in different government jobs through transparent process.
