Gujarat police is most techno savvy force in India, ever alert on duty

Ahmedabad, Monday: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today described Gujarat’s police as the most educated and techno savvy force in the country, ever alert in the safety and service of the people. For police personnel, he said that the Constitution, Tri-colour and uniform assume special significance.
Speaking at the passing-out parade of Lok Rakshak Police at Gujarat Police Academy at Karai, he said that training module is being overhauled for all cadres at the academy to make the force more professional to cope with ever-changing laws and law-and-order problems. New courses are introduced at regular intervals. It is being followed-up at district headquarters, too.
Mr. Modi took salute at the parade of 473 trainees, including 150 females, out of which 160 were graduates and 57 postgraduates. They took oath in the name of the Constitution. He presented President’s award winning police medals to 30 personnel, right from the director-general to constable.

He said that all round development in the state has created job opportunity in various fields. A large number of youths from ordinary families, including females, are now joining the police force. He hoped they would bring a paradigm shift in the working of the force.
Earlier, he said, there used to be a lot of complaints against policemen as well as about their exploitation because of corrupt practices. He said that as many as 26,000 persons were inducted into the police force in various cadres during the last seven years. In all, three lakh people were employed in different government jobs through transparent process.
Those present on the occasion included Minister of State for Home Praful Patel, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Varesh Sinha, DGP Chittarnjan Singh, other police officers and family members of the trainees.
Police Academy In-charge Director T S. Bist delivered the welcome speech and Joint Director Atul Karwal proposed a vote of thanks.
