On Wednesday 14th November 2012 Shri Narendra Modi will meet people in both Gandhinagar as well as Ahmedabad to exchange greetings as a part of the Gujarati New Year celebrations.
The Chief Minister will meet people at the community centre of the Minister’s Bungalow in Gandhinagar between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM on Wednesday 14th November 2012.
He will exchange greetings with people at Ahmedabad’s Circuit House Annexe, Shahibaug from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday 14th November 2012.
Shri Modi extended his warm greetings to the people of Gujarat on the occasion of Diwali and New Year on the evening of Monday, 12th November 2012.
In his Blog titled ‘Diwali: A move from darkness to light, the ultimate triumph of good over evil!’ Shri Modi wrote, “On the auspicious festival of Diwali, I convey my warmest greetings to the people of India and our Indian brothers and sisters abroad. I pray that this festival lights the lamp of happiness in every house. I would like to wish our Gujarati brothers and sisters on the commencement of Nutan Varsh (New Year). May the coming year bring lots of peace, joy and prosperity in our lives.”
The Chief Minister termed Diwali as a festival that is an integral part of our culture and called it a move towards brightness and a victory of good over evil. He noted the popularity of Diwali not only in India but also overseas.
“Let us pray that our country be blessed with enough brightness to keep our nation away from the menace of corruption and price rise. It is then that we can free the poorest of the poor from the clutches of poverty and make each and every individual an integral part of our development journey” Shri Modi further wrote on his blog.
